Dr Gideon Blecher is an Australian qualified Urologist and Andrologist. As a surgeon who looks after male reproductive and sexual health issues, he has the experience and knowledge to manage complex problems. He has completed several years of overseas fellowship subspeciality training, in both andrology as well as robotic oncology in some of London’s most esteemed hospitals.Dr Blecher specialises in a variety of areas including erectile dysfunction, penile prosthetic surgery, Peyronie’s disease, genital reconstruction, male infertility, male incontinence, testicular and penile lesions, as well as sexual dysfunction and general urology.Dr Blecher graduated from Monash University (MBBS Hons) in 2004. He completed Urology training (FRACS Urol) in 2014 and subsequently spent three years obtaining his dual fellowships. He is the current co-chairperson of the Young Sexual Medicine Academy (YOsEMA). Gideon has authored multiple medical book chapters and published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. He has been an invited speaker and chairperson at both international and local urological meetings.
Dr Jade Barclay is a Māori -Australian researcher, therapist, and science educator focused on health equity. Her PhD investigated diagnostic delay and prevention for pain management with hypermobility, neruodiversity and multimorbidity. MBA, Master of Public Health from UNSW and PhD In medicine from the University of Sydney where she is a Research Fellow in Digital Public Health.
Dr Chiara Chadwick is an Upper Gastrointestinal and General Surgeon, specialising in disorders of the stomach and oesophagus as well as metabolic bariatric surgery. She is also accredited to perform Upper GI endoscopy through the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (CCRTGE). Dr Chadwick completed her General Surgical Training through Alfred Health, obtaining her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2018. Dr Chadwick then undertook a full-time PhD at Monash University, completing her Thesis, “Identifying factors for patient selection to improve health resource utilisation in bariatric surgery within the public health system,” in 2023. During this time, she was also employed as a General Surgery and Oesophagogastric Surgical fellow at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, Vic. Dr Chadwick was accepted to the highly competitive Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand Gastric and Oesophageal Surgery Association (AANZGOSA) post-fellowship training program commencing in 2023. She undertook her 2-year subspecialty post fellowship training at The Concord Repatriation General Hospital in Sydney, NSW and The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, QLD. Dr Chadwick’s research interests focus on public health and health economics in bariatric and metabolic surgery, improving patient outcomes and the efficacy of health system resource use. She is currently employed as a senior research fellow with the Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand Bariatric Surgery Registry. Her public clinical consultant practice is located at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, attached to the Oesophagogastric and Bariatric Surgery Unit.
