Description

67% of GPs rated this lecture as excellent.

The GLP-1 receptor agonists have proven very beneficial at effecting weight loss for thousands of overweight Australians, but consequences of these therapies such as nutritional deficits need to be considered. In this talk, endocrinologist Associate Professor Spiros Fourlanos and dietitian Samantha Stuk discuss the risk of nutritional deficits and loss of muscle mass associated with the use of GLP-1 receptor agonists. Importantly, they will also provide recommendations on how these risks can be mitigated, including the value of nutritional supplements to ensure that the subsequent weight loss is associated with best possible health outcome for the patient.
